Qtopia Alarm Clock Advanced
Qtopia Alarm Clock Advanced is an updated version of application created by Dafydd
Walters <dwalters@users.sourceforge.net>.
The new version has a bunch of new features that I've been missing myself, so I
added them:
-
Enable/disable alarms without deleting them
-
Alarm message text (also displayed on the main window)
-
Alarm notification type (silent | loud)
-
Alarm led blinking type
-
Custom alarm frequency (any combination of weekdays)
-
Snooze option with user configurable snooze interval
-
Integration with Clock taskbar applet - alarms are shown and can be edited in the popup menu
New for version 1.0.9:
- Updated layouts, fonts and icons for C7x0/8x0 devices
- Added button to preview the alarm
- Week days are displayed according to user settings (ex. week starts on Sunday or Monday)
Many thanks to Ray Lambert for helping me out to resolve several GUI issues in this version!
New for version 1.0.8:
-
Added integration with Clock taskbar applet
New for version 1.0.7:
-
Updated Russian translation
-
Minor changes and fixes
New for version 1.0.6:
-
Added (expiremental) support for playing wav file as alarm, including buzzer device under OZ 3.2! See below for more info.
-
Added layouts to the GUI
Note: Playing wav file as alarm is an experimantad feature.
There are some known problems and limitations:
- Playing wav files through the buzzer works ONLY under OZ 3.2 - it contains a kernel sound driver for buzzer.
- Buzzer only supports playing wav files of certain format: 22050 Hz, 16 bit, mono.
A wav file needs to be converted to this format using a tool like Windows Sound Recorder or similar.
Open file in Sound Recorder, the select File->Properties menu, click Convert Now button,
select format PCM, attributes: 22050 Hz, 16 bit, mono, save the file.
Then transfer the file to your Zaurus's Documents folder.
- There seems to be a problem playing wav files through the normal sound device.
I'm not sure if this is a problem in OZ sound driver or in my application. I'm going to flash Sharp ROM to test.
If you don't want to test this new feature, you can use older versions (1.0.4 or 1.0.5) available for download below.
