An Example

I have a good 16KB-64KB 5150 motherboard. All four RAM banks are populated.
I run the diagnostics. As expected, everything passes.

I then remove a RAM chip, data not parity, from RAM bank 2   (bank 2 = 32 KB to 48 KB range).
I run the diagnostics.
What I see is:

16K CRITICAL MEMORY REGION -- FAILED
SYSTEM MEMORY TO 10000 ------ PASSED
SLOW REFRESH TO 10000 ------- FAILED

Instead, what I expected to see is:

16K CRITICAL MEMORY REGION -- PASSED      (because the first 16 KB on my motherboard is in fact good)
SYSTEM MEMORY TO 10000 ------ FAILED
SLOW REFRESH TO 10000 ------- N/A             (no point doing a slow refresh test if the 'normal' test fails)
