Toshiba T1100 PLUS - Batteries
Main battery
Powers the laptop when no AC adapter is being used. See here.
Battery for clock/calendar
The system board contains a 2.4V NiCd (Ni-Cd)(Ni-Cad) battery, to maintain the cock/calendar information (if set) whilst the laptop is powered off.
Use of the clock/calendar (a Toshiba TC8250 clock/calendar chip on the T1100 PLUS system board) may require the use of Toshiba MS-DOS.
From the related section of the T1100 PLUS maintenance manual: "If you haven't used the system unit for two months since battery has been charged, the stored data disappears."
Battery within 5.25" 360KB external FDD
The T1100 PLUS maintenance manual indicates that the 5.25" external floppy disk drive contains a NiCd (Ni-Cd)(Ni-Cad) battery.
A drawing showing the battery is on page 5-25.
