TITLE:  Xircom CEM28 Ether/Modem in Ascentia P
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   Under Windows 95 on an Ascentia P, the system may not recognize 
   the Xircom CreditCard Ethernet+Modem 28.8 (CEM28) in Dial-Up 
   Networking or may not dial properly in HyperTerminal. 
   
   This issue may affect all Ascentia P laptops or any system using 
   PCMCIA.

ACTION 
 
   To resolve these issues, flash the CEM28 to firmware version 
   4.42, or higher. File CEM28AUP.EXE contains the flash upgrade. 
   Obtain this file from Xircom Customer Support at (805) 376-9200 
   or from Xircom's World Wide Web site at the following address:  
   
          http://www.xircom.com/Tech/Software/
   
   AST also recommends that you obtain files CEM28DRV.EXE and 
   CEM28INS.EXE which contain the latest drivers and install the 
   software, respectively. Obtain these from the same locations.
   
   Follow the upgrade instructions in the README.TXT files contained 
   in each self-extracting archive.
