TITLE:  Ascentia M, Touchpad, Hang
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   The Synaptics TouchPad on the Ascentia M may exhibit either of 
   the following:
   
   1. The TouchPad may not respond (or hang) intermittently 
      under Windows 95. 
   
   2. The "Goodies" button of the TouchPad enhancements does 
      not give any goodies when the user clicks it.  
   
   This issue affects all Ascentia M systems.

ACTION 
 
   Upgrade the drivers for the Synaptics TouchPad to version 4.1.25 
   or later. Obtain these drivers from the Restore CD in the 
   \Drivers\Win95\TouchPad directory. Follow the instructions below:
   
   1. Copy file SYN25.ZIP to a temporary directory on your 
      hard drive.
   
   2. Use a utility such as PKUNZIP to decompress the file.
   
   3. Run Setup and follow the instructions given.    

 
NOTES 
 
   These files have been specifically modified for the Ascentia M. 
   DO NOT download the drivers available from www.synaptics.com as 
   they do not contain the necessary modifications.
