TITLE:  Ascentia P, Win3.1x, System Hangs w/AVI
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   Playing an AVI file and attempting to adjust the volume using the 
   function keys <Fn+F7> and <Fn+F8> on the Ascentia P50 causes the 
   system to hang under Windows 3.1x.
   
   This issue affects the following system part numbers: 503039, 
   503040 and 503041.

ACTION 
 
   To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:
      
   1. Obtain the Cirrus Logic CL-GD7548 driver, v1.40g or 
      later, file name 7548140G.EXE, from any of the 
      following sources:

      To decompress this file, create a temporary directory 
      on your hard drive, copy the downloaded file to that 
      directory, and run the file. 
      
   2. Install the drivers from Windows 3.1x by selecting
      File, Run, then type A:\Install and press the <Enter> 
      key. Follow the instructions on the screen.
