TITLE:  Windows NT 4.0 and SideWinder Joystick
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   The Microsoft SideWinder joystick will not configure properly 
   under Windows NT 4.0 on some systems. When attempting to 
   configure it, the joystick fails to respond or Windows NT 4.0 
   reports the following error:
   
       The joystick is not connected properly. 
   
   This issue is more prevalent on systems with on-board sound and 
   game ports.    

 
BACKGROUND 
 
   Windows NT 4.0 does not support all sound devices and game ports.

   Consult the Hardware Compatibility List for Windows NT 4.0 at the 
   following address:

   Select the Windows NT Hardware Compatibility Tools for 
   instructions on accessing the list.
