TITLE:  Advantage! & Microsoft Gamepad Issues
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   After installing the Microsoft Gamepad software, the Gaming 
   Devices icon in Control Panel displays a "Not Connected" message.
      
   This issue affects the following systems: 503091 and 503092.    

 
BACKGROUND 
 
   On faster systems, the Joystick or Gamepad software routines do 
   not always read the Gamepad signal correctly, resulting in a 
   timing issue.    

 
ACTION 
 
   The solution is as follows:
   
   1. Download the Sidewinder Gamepad Configuration Utility 
      from Microsoft's Web site at the following address:
   
         http://www.microsoft.com/sidewinder/download
              /default.htm
   
   2. Run the file.
