TITLE:  NT Crashes w/Backup Exec on P&V Servers
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   The Windows NT kernel may crash ("Blue Screen") or reboot if the 
   following components are installed in the Manhattan P and V 
   server:
   
   1. Arcada/Conner/Seagate Backup Exec software.
   
   2. A tape drive connected to the embedded NCR SCSI
      controller.
   
   3. Windows NT v3.51.
   
   This issue affects all Manhattan P and V systems.    

 
BACKGROUND

ACTION 
 
   Update the following software to the version specified.
   
   1. Backup Exec v6.11 or newer.
   
   2. SymBIOS Logic/NCR Driver for NT v2.03 or newer.
   
   3. Service Pack 4 for NT v3.51. or newer.

   The Symbios 53C810 SCSI Controller Driver for NT v2.03 can be
