TITLE:  Ascentia P no Audio from a USR Modem
 
 
ISSUE 
 
   When an Ascentia P system is running Windows 95 with a US 
   Robotics modem, the user may find that there is no audio when 
   dialing. 
   
   This issue affects all Ascentia P systems.    

 
BACKGROUND

ACTION 
 
   This configuration requires the use of BIOS version 1.02 (AST 
   part number 905584-033)  or later, and the Audio level setting 
   for the US Robotics must be set to maximum to enable Audio. To 
   accomplish this, follow the steps below:
   
   1. Upgrade to BIOS revision 1.02 or later. File

      on your hard drive, copy the downloaded file to that 
      directory, and run the file. 
   
   2. Set the volume setting for the modem within Control
      Panel/Modem/Properties/Speaker Volume to the maximum
      setting.
