TECHNICAL BULLETIN # 1535 7-19-96 TITLE: Bravo MS and Alaris Matinee Video Card SUMMARY A monitor that is connected to a Bravo MS system does not display graphics with a Matinee PCI video card. This issue affects the following system: 501774. ISSUE The computer monitor does not display text or graphics when the Matinee PCI video card is installed in the computer. The cursor hangs in the upper left hand corner of the monitor after turning the system ON. BACKGROUND The Ramdac chip at location U3 on the Matinee video card is incompatible with the computer system. ACTION Use Alaris's Matinee Pro video card. To upgrade the card, contact Alaris's Technical Support Department at 510-770-5766 or http://www.alaris.com. Please address the message to "Technical Support" when contacting Alaris via the website. NOTES 1. The Ramdac chip uses two different suppliers, AT&T and ST. The symptom occurs with the Ramdac chip that is manufactured by AT&T. 2. The Matinee Pro video card uses the Cirrus Logic CL-GD5446 video chipset. The Ramdac chip is built into the chipset.
