TITLE: Win95 Olicom PCMCIA Token Ring Adapter


SUMMARY

   Windows 95 may not recognize the Olicom OC-3221 GoCard Token-Ring 
   card.

   This issue affects all mobile products.


ISSUE

   Windows 95 may not recognize the Olicom OC-3221 GoCard Token-Ring
   PC adapter card in a mobile system.


BACKGROUND

   Windows 95 does not fully support the Olicom GoCard Token Ring card. 
   The user must update the Windows 95 network drivers for the GoCard 
   to function properly.


ACTION

   To resolve this issue, install the OLICOM TR adapter (OC-3221) 
   with Windows 95 on mobile computers.  Follow the procedure listed 
   below:

1.  Download MP16-340.EXE or later from either the Olicom FTP, 
      Web, or BBS (see NOTES section below).

   2.  Extract the file onto a floppy.

   3.  Boot Windows 95.

   4.  Remove the network adapter from Device Manager (if installed).

   5.  Remove all network drivers from the Control Panel, Networks.

   6.  Reboot the system without the adapter in the system.

   7.  Run INSTALL.EXE from the OC-8610 disk (Installation Disk).

   8.  Select Win95 Drivers Upgrade.

   9.  Click OK to update the NDIS3.0 driver.

   10. Insert the disk you created when asked for the drivers 
       diskettes.  Do not insert the OC 3875 disk.

   11. When the driver installation is complete, turn the system OFF.

   12. Insert the adapter in the PCMCIA slot.

   13. Turn the system ON.  Windows 95 will detect the new hardware.

   14. Windows 95 will report that an older version of a driver is 
       replacing a newer version.  Windows 95 will ask if you want to 
       keep the new version of the driver.  Choose Yes to keep the 
       new driver.

   15. Windows 95 will prompt to reboot the system.  Click Yes.

   16. When the system reboots, the installation is complete.
