TITLE: Ascentia 950N, ProStation, Token Ring


SUMMARY

   The Ascentia 950N may not recognize a Token Ring adaptor.

   This issue affects all Ascentia 950N systems.


ISSUE

   When a Hypertec HyperRing Blue Classic 16/4 Token Ring adaptor is 
   installed in a ProStation, the Ascentia 950N may not recognize the 
   adaptor.


BACKGROUND

   An I/O address conflict exists between the Ascentia 950N and the 
   Token Ring adaptor.  


ACTION

   To resolve the issue, implement both of the following changes:

   1. Set the memory address on the Token Ring adaptor to  D0000, 
      D4000, D8000 or DC000,

      and

   2. Enter System Setup on the Ascentia 950N (by pressing <FN>+<F2>)
      and change the I/O address of the Ascentia's built-in audio to 
      anything OTHER THAN 220.
