TITLE: Bravo MS/MS-T 5000 512KB Cache Upgrade


SUMMARY

   In order to upgrade the Bravo MS/MS-T 5000 systems to 512KB cache, 
   the user must first upgrade the system BIOS to version 1.02 or 
   higher.

   This issue applies to the following systems: 501951, 501952, 
   501954, 501955, 501956, 501972, 503028, 503029, 503027, 503067, 
   and 503043.


ISSUE

   The second-level 512KB cache upgrade requires the system use
   BIOS version 1.02 or higher.


BACKGROUND

   The Bravo MS system uses a flash BIOS.  This means that the user
   can update the BIOS with a floppy disk image.  The computer does 
   not require any hardware changes.

   To determine the system's BIOS version, turn the system ON.
   The BIOS version will appear at the top left corner of the screen.


ACTION

   To upgrade the system BIOS, download file 05579036.EXE or later
   from one of AST's On-Line! services and follow the README.TXT 
   instructions included in the download.
