TITLE: Ascentia 950N and P, Win 3.11, AutoCAD


SUMMARY

   The Ascentia 950N and the Ascentia P systems display AutoCAD 
   drawings properly on the screen, but printing to a non-Postscript
   printer causes the printed output to become corrupted.  

   This issue affects all Ascentia 950N and Ascentia P systems.


ISSUE

   When running Windows 3.11, using the Cirrus Logic 7543 (CL-GD7543)
   video drivers supplied by AST, the Ascentia 950N and the Ascentia P
   will only print AutoCAD drawings in Postscript mode.  

   If a non-Postscript driver is selected, the output will be corrupted.


BACKGROUND

   An incompatibility exists in Windows 3.1x with the Cirrus Logic
   video drivers, when using a non-Postscript printer driver in 
   AutoCAD. 


ACTION

   Upgrade to Windows 95.  Cirrus Logic and Microsoft have included 
   AutoCAD support for drivers that ship with Windows 95.


NOTES

   Using the improper drivers may cause damage to the LCD display panel.
