	       Premmia GX P/100 Garbled Graphics in DOS Applications


PROBLEM

When running certain DOS applications, such as "DISCOVER", in the Premmia GX 
P/100 system, graphics such as "buttons" and "borders" may appear garbled.  
The text within the graphics may also appear garbled.


CAUSE

The Matrox video BIOS version 1.5 is not compatible with certain DOS 
applications.


SOLUTION

Upgrade the Matrox video card with BIOS version 1.8 or higher 
(AST part number 905572-031).

To update the flash BIOS, run the batch file.  Type 

     a:\UPDBIOS.BAT 

and press <Return>.

NOTE:  Make sure the BIOS protect switch is in the ON position.  The BIOS can 
       not be updated if it is in the protected state when the switch is 
       in the OFF position.
