TITLE: Crystal Sound Drivers for WinNT 3.51


SUMMARY

   The Crystal sound drivers for Windows NT 3.51 may not work.

   This issue applies to all systems using the Crystal CS4232 audio
   chipset.


ISSUE

   The User's Manual states that the configuration for the sound card
   is IRQ5, I/O 220, and DMA 1, however, these settings may not be 
   valid.  The above configuration may cause the system to hang.


BACKGROUND

   Crystal Semiconductor's new Sound Blaster emulation code was not 
   implemented.


ACTION

   Update the Bravo MS system BIOS to release 1.05 (p/n 05558-310) or 
   greater and the Windows NT Crystal Semiconductor's sound drivers 
   (p/n 912454-032) to release 1.10 or greater.

   File 05558310.EXE, Bravo MS flash BIOS release 1.05, and file 
   12454032.EXE, Crystal Semiconductor's CS4232 driver release 1.10 
   for Windows NT are available from any of AST's On-Line! services 
   including:

   To decompress this file, create a temporary directory on your
   hard drive, copy the downloaded file to that directory, and run
   the file.
