SYSTEMS HANG DURING NETWARE 4.10 INSTALLATION
PROBLEM: Novell has reported a problem with the installation procedure
of NetWare 4.1 which may cause systems to hang.

SOLUTION: Install the CR4CLR.EXE patch. This file can be downloaded
from AST's BBS.

To install the patch (CR4CLRFX.EXE which is contained in the
self-extracting file CR4CLR.EXE), do the following:
1. Begin installing NetWare as usual.
When the following message appears:
Loading SERVER.EXE
the system will hang.
2. Turn off the computer, wait ten seconds, and turn the
computer back on.
3. When the DOS prompt appears, type the following:
CD\NWSERVER
4. Insert the floppy disk that contains the file CR4CLRFX.EXE
in drive A and type:
A:CR4CLRFX SERVER.EXE
5. When the DOS prompt reappears, type:
SERVER -S DISTRTUP.NCF
6. At this point, the installation procedure should resume
normally.
