              PREMMIA GX WINDOWS GPF ERRORS USING FLOPPY DRIVE A


PROBLEM:        The Premmia GX system reports Windows GPF errors when reading
                or writing to floppy drive A.

CAUSE:          Floppy data corruption is due to old video BIOS 113-25504-100
                on the ATI PCI Mach 64 video adapter.

SOLUTION:       1. Download the self-extracting file <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/MISC/ATI64FIX.EXE">ATI64FIX.EXE</A> from AST's
                   BBS, Systems file area.  AST's BBS can be reached by
                   dialing the following telephone number:  
                   (817) 230-6850.  AST's Bulletin Board supports modem
		   speeds up to 28.8k bps.

                2. Copy <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/MISC/ATI64FIX.EXE">ATI64FIX.EXE</A> into the root directory.  This file
                   contains ATI1WS.COM.

                3. Edit AUTOEXEC.BAT by adding

                       C:\ATI1WS.COM

                   to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

                4. Save and reboot the system.  The Premmia GX system will now
                   read and write floppy drive A without errors.
