                              BRAVO MT PARALLEL PORT


PROBLEM:        The MicroSolutions Backpack hard drive can not communicate
                with the Bravo MT system via the parallel port on the system
                board.

CAUSE:          The parallel port is not set to the enhanced mode.  The
                MicroSolutions Backpack hard drive requires that the parallel
                port be enhanced or bi-directional.

SOLUTION:       Download the self-extracting file <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/D-OTHER/AMIP.EXE">AMIP.EXE</A> from the Systems
                file area of AST's BBS.  The file AMIP.COM, contained in
                AMIP.EXE, will make the parallel port on the Bravo MT system
                board enhanced and able to communicate with  MicroSolutions'
                Backpack hard drive.

                1. Copy the <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/D-OTHER/AMIP.EXE">AMIP.EXE</A> file into the root directory of your boot
                   drive.
                2. Type <A HREF="ftp://ftp.ast.com/D-OTHER/AMIP.EXE">AMIP.EXE</A> and press <Enter>.
                3. Edit AUTOEXEC.BAT by including the statement:

                       C:\AMIP.COM

                4. Save the file and reboot the system.
