IBM 5152 - Power Up Behaviour
No Paper
With the 5152 not connected to a computer, if you power up the 5152 when it has no paper:

Print head
If at 5152 power up, the print head was not far left, the print head will move to there.
If at 5152 power up, the print head was already far left, you will see the print head move to the right by about 1 cm, then return.
Speaker
The 5152 will beep eight times.
With Paper
With the 5152 not connected to a computer, if you power up the 5152 when it has paper:

Print head
If at 5152 power up, the print head was not far left, the print head will move to there.
If at 5152 power up, the print head was already far left, you will see the print head move to the right by about 1 cm, then return.
Speaker
No beeps.
Print Test
Providing that the 5152 has paper (and behaves as in the 'With Paper' section above), then a print test will occur if the LINE FEED button is held down when the 5152 is powered up. The 5152 will continuously print out lines of characters, in what appears to be a test pattern.
