The fix is shipped as file IBM.HHOP850.UK83670
The fix has rework (build) date 2012325 (20 Nov 2012)
The following fixes are prerequisites for this fix:
These prerequisites can be downloaded from the Developer for System z Recommended Fixes page, if not included as file IBM.HHOP850.<prereq>.
Steps required to install the fix:
A sequential data set must be allocated on the z/OS system to receive the fix that you will upload from your workstation. You can do this by submitting the job below. Add a job card and modify the parameters to meet your site's requirements before submitting.
//ALLOC EXEC PGM=IEFBR14 //* //UK83670 DD DSN=hlq.IBM.HHOP850.UK83670, // DISP=(NEW,CATLG,DELETE), // DSORG=PS, // RECFM=FB, // LRECL=80, // UNIT=SYSALLDA, //* VOL=SER=volser, //* BLKSIZE=6160, // SPACE=(TRK,(253,50)) //*
Upload the file in binary format from your workstation to the z/OS data set. On a Windows system, you can use FTP from a command prompt to upload the file. In the sample dialog shown below, commands or other information entered by the user are in bold, and the following values are assumed:
| User enters: | Values |
|---|---|
| mvsaddr | TC P/IP address of the z/OS system |
| tsouid | Your TSO user ID |
| tsopw | Your TSO password |
| d: | Your drive containing the fix files |
| hlq | High-level qualifier that you used for the data set that you allocated in the job above |

This fix updates the sample rsed.envvars by adding the
following optional directives:
#_RSE_JAVAOPTS="$_RSE_JAVAOPTS -DRSE_DSICALL=TSO"
Method used to collect data set information. By default, the
service uses the same TSO/ISPF Client Gateway infrastructure
used for TSO commands issued by the user. Uncomment and
specify TSO to use an alternative, less resource-intensive,
method to collect data set information. Note that this
alternative method adds additional prerequisites:
* FEK.SFEKLOAD(FEKDSI) must be in LINKLIST or STEPLIB (defined
in rsed.envvars)
* the REXX runtime library (REXX.*.SEAGLPA) must be in LPA,
LINKLIST, or STEPLIB (defined in rsed.envvars)
Also note that this variable is not honored when APPC is used
instead of ISPF's TSO/ISPF Client Gateway to support the TSO
Commands service.
#_RSE_JAVAOPTS="$_RSE_JAVAOPTS -DDISABLE_REMOTE_INDEX_SEARCH=tru
Disable the Remote Index Search menu item on the client. The
default is false. Uncomment and specify true to prevent users
from creating remote indexes for host data sets. This option
only works with clients version 8.5.1 and higher.
Add this directive to your active rsed.envvars (by default
located in /etc/rdz) if you want to use it.

This fix updates the sample rsed.envvars by altering the
following optional directives:
#_RSE_JAVAOPTS="$_RSE_JAVAOPTS -Dmaximum.clients=30"
(previous value was 60)
Maximum amount of clients serviced by one thread pool. The
default is 30. Uncomment and customize to limit the number
of clients per thread pool. Note that other limits might
prevent RSE from reaching this limit.
#_RSE_JAVAOPTS="$_RSE_JAVAOPTS -Dmaximum.threads=520"
(previous value was 1000)
Maximum amount of active threads in one thread pool to allow
new clients. The default is 520. Uncomment and customize to
limit the number of clients per thread pool based on the
number of threads in use. Note that each client connection
uses multiple threads (17 or more) and that other limits
might prevent RSE from reaching this limit.
Note: This value must be lower than the setting for MAXTHREADS
and MAXTHREADTASKS in SYS1.PARMLIB(BPXPRMxx).
This fix updates the sample rsed.envvars by altering the
following non-customizable directive:
_RSE_JAVAOPTS="$_RSE_JAVAOPTS -DDSTORE_SPIRIT_ON=false"
(previous value was true)
Note that even if you don't update the variable in
rsed.envvars, RSE will treat it as being false.
Update this directive in your active rsed.envvars (by default
located in /etc/rdz) if you want to use it.

This service introduces an new message generated by IRZ
(EST-XSE) COBOL Compiled XML Conversion runtime.
IRZ0279S
XML to language structure conversion could not complete in
program PROGRAM-NAME because conversion of the character content
of an XML element or attribute that is of type xsd:boolean did
not match 'true', 'false', '1', or '0'. The error occurred at
XML path XML-PATH with the character content CHARACTER-CONTENT.
Explanation: XML to language structure conversion detected that
the content of an XML element or attribute that is of type
xsd:boolean did not match 'true', 'false', '1', or '0'.
Programmer response: Correct the input XML message. Ensure that
the message is valid according to the XML Schema upon which the
XML to language structure converter is based.
System action: The converter will either signal a Language
Environment condition or, if the optional feedback code argument
is provided, a condition token representing the condition will
be placed in the argument.).
