DB2 OLAP Server Installation Guide
On Windows NT servers, a network setting enables you to optimize the
performance of networked applications. DB2 OLAP Server performance
improves significantly on Windows NT with this setting enabled.
On Windows 2000, the default system setting is to optimize performance for
networked applications. It is not necessary to change this
setting.
To enable the Maximize Throughput for Network Applications setting:
- Exit DB2 OLAP Server.
- Start the Windows NT Control Panel.
- Double-click the Network icon.
- Select the Services tab.
- In the Network Services list box, double-click Server
Services. The Server dialog box is displayed. If a message
is displayed on your screen indicating that you cannot configure the software
component, then your Windows NT computer is probably a Windows NT Workstation
configuration, not a Windows NT server configuration, and you cannot change
the network settings.
- Select Maximize Throughput for Network Applications.
- Click OK. The Services tab of the Network
dialog box is displayed.
- Click Close.
- Restart Windows NT.
