microSD-CF変換器を、買ってみた 不調［追記］ to English Note Malfunction[Add]
最近、私は「PC110」の改修・保全にべったり（執着状態）なのだが、それのメイン・ドライブとして使っているCF（コンパクト･フラッシュ）の補充をしておこうと考えた。
保有中のCF群は、偶に、本体に電源の入っている時に、うっかり抜き差しをした為に、壊してしまうことがある。（図２<クリック>）
手持ちのCF群は、すべて、「PC110」用のPC-DOS、Win3.1、Win95、Win98、Win2KなどのOSを組み込んであるものばかりで、空いた予備品が無い。
他方、「microSD（μSD）」の方は、遊んでいるものが沢山あるのだが、それらは、「PC110」には、そのままでは使えない。
そう思っていたら、先日、「ヤフオク！」で、“異なモノ”を見付けた。「microSD-CF変換器／アダプタ」だ。（図１中央）
このマーク（micro SD XC）には、苦い経験があるが、今回も、“物は、試し”で、買ってみた。（代価￥１,１４０送料込み）
“虎穴にいらずんば虎子を得ず”という格言もある♪
．．．結果は、好し！これで、CF（実は、μSD）の“在庫維持体勢”は、万全だ！．．．（？いや、これは、使うのに慎重になるべきだ！）

先ず、μSD-8GBを差して、フォーマットをし、幾つかのファイル群を書き込んでみた。（図３）
何処にも、異常は無さそうだ。これなら「PC110」にも、問題無く使えるだろう。
（実は、昔のCFには、「PC110」では使えなかったモノもあった）
「PC110」に装着してみて、一寸困惑。
「microSD」を差し替えるのに、一々この「変換器」を抜き差ししなければいけないのだ。
実は、老兵「PC110」へCFの抜き差し回数は、機械的なストレスを抑える為に、出来るだけ減らしたい。
しかし、この構造では、それは適わない。（図４<クリック>）
勿論、通常の使い方だと、「μSD」が簡単には抜けないように配慮されているのは“良いこと”なのだが、私には逆に、不適だ。

＋＋＋ Format不全？ ＋＋＋
今回は、“早とちり／失敗”をしてしまった。
「PC110」で動く「Win95」の入ったCFが、これにちゃんとディスク・コピー出来た。（と思い込んだのだが）
だから、他のCFと同じように使えるだろうと、思っていたのだが、実際に差し込んで働かせようとしたら、ダメだった！
何故、起動しない？
オマケに、優先順位の高いFDの方から起動して、“MBR（マスター・ブート・レコード）”を更新すれば起動するかな？と思って試したが、それすらも（FDからも起動）出来ない。（図５）
どうやら、この「μSD−CF変換器」は、ここには、対応出来ないのかな？
「PC110」のCFスロットが傷んでいないかと、「PC-DOS」や「Win95」を組み込んである他のCFを挿してみたら、問題なく起動した。
メディア（μSD）を128MB〜8GBまで替えてみても、状況は同じ！どうやら、この“ケース自体”が適正ではないらしい。
後で、μSD-2GBを単独で調べたら、セクタ全滅の被害を受けていた。（図６<クリック>）
だが、「一言板」で、へろへろ３氏からアドバイスを頂いて、不良化SDを“パナソニック・フォーマッター”で、フォーマットしてみた。
μSD-8GBの方は、簡単に復活出来た。
しかし、μSD-2GBの方は、PCを替えたり、中間アダプタを替えたり、フォーマット方式を替えたりして、かなり手間が掛かった。最後に、復活出来た！
．．．振り返って考えてみたら、「PC110」の起動用CFを作る為に、“ディスク・コピー・ソフト”を使って、これらには、幾度も、異サイズのディスクをコピーしていたから、その悪影響が残ったのかもしれない。

I tried to buy a microSD-CF converter
Recently, I have been involved in the repair and maintenance of " PC110 " (Attached state), and I am thinking that I would like to keep suitable volume of stock the CF (compact flash) used as the main drive.
Unordinaly, If any CF as the main unit is accidentally plugged or unplugged when power is on, it may be broken. (Fig_2 <click>)
All my CFs on hand are installed with PC-DOS, Win3.1, Win95, Win98, Win2K as the OS of " PC110 ". So, there are no spare parts available.
On the other hand, there are many μSDs in may junk-box, but there are not avalable directly to use for PC110 ".
On the other day, I found "a different thing" in " Yahoo! Auction ". It is " microSD-CF converter / adapter ". (Fig_1, in the middle)
This mark ( micro SD XC ) has bitter experience , but this time, I tried to buy it. (Price \ 1,140 shipping included)
There is also a saying that "don't get into a tiger hole and don't get a good luck tiger child" ♪
. . . The result is good ! Now, CF (in fact, μSD) 's "stock keeping position" is perfect ! . . . (? No, this should be prudent to use! )

First, I put 8GB of "microSD（μSD）", formatted it, and tried writing some file groups. (Fig_3)
There seems to be no abnormality anywhere.
In this case, " PC110 " can be used without any problem !
(In fact, some old CFs could not use on " PC110 ".)
Attached to " PC110 ", it was a little puzzled.
In order to replace the "microSD", it is necessary to remove and insert this "converter" wholely.
In fact, I would like to reduce the number of times of insertion and removal CFs to the old soldier " PC110 " as much as possible in order to reduce mechanical stress.
However, in this structure, it is not suitable. (Figure 4 <click> )
Of course, in normal usage, it is a "good design" for the "microSD" to be not easy to leave, but it is inappropriate for me.

This time, I did "premature dust / failure".
Win95-CF, which runs on " PC110 ", has made a disc copy. (Figure 6 <click> )
So I was wondering if it could be used like any other CF, but when I was actually going to plug it in, it was no good !
Why not start?
As an option, boot from the higher priority FD, and start up by updating the "MBR (master boot record)"? I thought and tried, but I can not start it from FD. (Fig_5)
Apparently, this "μSD-CF converter" can not correspond here ?
Check that the CF slot in " PC110 " is not damaged, " PC-DOS " or " Win95 ", it started without any problem.
The situation is the same even if I try changing media（μSD） from 128MB to 8GB !
Later, when I examined μSD-2GB alone, Later, when I examined μSD-2GB alone, it was suffered the annihilation of all sectors, by the adaptors bad work. (Fig_6 <click> )
However, with " One-word board ", I received advice from Mr. Hero Hero 3 , and I tried to format them with "Panasonic formatter".
It seems that μSD-8GB was able to be easily restored.
But μSD-2GB changed the PC, changed the intermediate adapter, changed the format method, and so on. The Finally, it has revived ! )
. . . In retrospect, these may have been adversely affected because I used "disk copy software" to copy different sized disks many times, in order to create a startup CF for " PC110 ".
