These packages are for fun. Either they're games or they're drawing tools. They definitely don't serve any useful purpose. Here's a list of the fun stuff this site has:
This game lets you play chess by electronic mail with other people who use Magic Cap communicators. Moves are automatically sent and received. You can play as many games as you want at the same time, and you can review all the moves in the game whenever you like. You can also pass short messages and stamps back and forth with each move.
Coupon Grabber (the package formerly known as
Imaginizer)
Author: Robert Reimann
Size: 8K
Coupon Grabber slurps images and sounds from objects you touch and turns them into coupons. You can find the grabber tool in the tool holder next to the move, copy, and stretch tools. Option-touch your target to pop up a window with grabbing options, or just touch to slurp with your current settings.
DoodleMeister
Author: Glen Shires
Size: 12K
DoodleMeister cleans up scribbles, straightens wiggly lines, and closes polygons. A must for anybody who likes to draw on telecards. MeisterWare by Glen Shires.
Edgewise 1.2
Author: Greg Marriott
Size: 20K
A challenging, maddening, and just generally difficult solitaire game.
Flipper
Author: Darin Acquistapace
Size: 16K
A Magic Cap version of the classic Othello game.
Hangman
Author: Chris Derossi
Size: 32K
The classic word game redone in the spirit of Magic Cap.
Note: This package won't work on the Envoy.
Holiday Magic & Turkey
Author: Rick Ross
Size: Big (about 100K)
The infamous Christmas-stamp Holiday Magic package from IRIS Development:
And a letter from Rick with Thanksgiving stamps, which gets installed into the filing cabinet:
Scramble 1.4
Author: John Sullivan
Size: 44K
Find all the words in the grid, or as many as you can before time runs out. You can beam boards to your friends for group Scramble, or two people can play the same board in succession. The highest score we've heard of is over 240 in 3 minutes; can you beat it? Warning! Scramble is addictive!
Version 1.4 keeps separate high score lists for different game times. No longer must you see the puny 2-minute scores mixed with the beefy 3-minute scores.
Note: This package requires Spellfinder, which comes with the Sony Magic Link. If you have a communicator that doesn't come with Spellfinder built in, you must buy it from Sony Software. John hasn't tested Scramble with Spellfinder on other communicators, but he thinks it will work.
SysImages
Author: Gary Connor
Size: 9K
SysImages lets you make stamps and image coupons from built-in Magic Cap images. I'm told it's a precursor to Brenda Holloway's Scanner.
TapRabbit
Author: Timo Bruck
Size: 16K
TapRabbit is a version of whack-a-mole where you get to "smash rabbits". This game is the game for people who really really really can't stand the General Magic logo. I'm told that TapRabbit is the first publicly available package made with CodeWarrior Magic/MPW.
Wallpaper
Author: Michael Sclafani
Size: 8K
Customize your desktop by tiling your walls with any Magic Cap image. Option-tap on the wall to pick the image.
