Hooked on Logo

Dear Sirs,

I must congratulate you on the publication of Ed Keefe's article entitled "Programming Is Child's Play" in the January/February 1999 edition of The HP Palmtop Paper.

It was enthralling to the extent that I could not stop reading it and had to download first Ladybug Logo and then MSWLogo and try each for myself. I am not a programmer and indeed have limited computer experience. I had never heard of Logo before but you could say that I am now hooked.

It is amazing how learning starts off so simply that a child can do it, yet it progresses to such a complex outcome, limited only by one's imagination.

As Ed Keefe himself aptly puts it, Logo is for kids but also Logo is for the kid in all of us. It is both fun and serious at the same time. I introduced my young granddaughter to it and she started picking it up right from the word "go".

Furthermore, as users keep saying, it is amazing what Palmtops can do and it is gratifying to see new and interesting ideas to apply in each edition of The HP Palmtop Paper. Keep up the good work.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Barry Collins
