I just finished a nice telephone visit with one of the top people in the Hewlett-Packard palmtop marketing division and was informed that they have ABSOLUTELY no intention to stop producing the 200LX, AND it is selling extremely well.
She said it is the only DOS palmtop platform out there, and it is very popular among software developers. She also said it sells itself, so they don't have to market it. They are sending me the latest brochure which illustrates the 620LX, the 360LX along with the 200LX. So they are marketing it as one of the palmtop choices they have at HP. I asked if there was any plan to increase the memory and they said no. Of course, one of the strong points of the 200LX (in my humble opinion) is all of the software that is being developed for it. I hung up the telephone very excited about the future of the 200LX.
