Appointment Book
Play the X-FILES theme for your alarm
If you're like me, you get tired of hearing the built-in alarm sounds
on the HP 100\ 200LX. I've converted the X-Files theme music to the ALARM
.SND sound format, and here is how you can do it also:
-
1. Open Memo, start a new document and type the following on one line (don't
enter any hard returns):
m1k1t200 v1 o3l8b-o4fe- fa-l2f o3l8b-o4fe-fb-l2f o5l8c+ co4b -a-b-l2f o5l8c+co4b-
a-o5co4l2f v3 3l8b-o4fe-fa-l2fo3l8b-o4fe-fb-l2f o5l8c+co4b-a-b-l2f o5l8c+
co4b-a-o5co4l2f l2v0cv3 cecececececececece
-
You can add more "ce"'s to the end of the line to make the alarm sound
longer.
-
2. Now save the file as C:\_DAT\ALARM.SND (make sure you save it as an
ASCII file).
-
3. Now set the alarm beep in the Appointment Book by opening APPT and pressing
(ALT) O B to go to the Alarm Beep screen of the Options menu (see screen
at the top of this page). Press (ALT) C for custom and that's it.
Press (MENU) Options Alarm Beep to customize Appointment Book's
Alarm
The music is rather long, but the alarm can be stopped by pressing
any key. It actually plays the song twice, first at volume 1 (v1) and then
at volume 3 (v3). I use this to wake up without getting a heart attack.
Use this alarm at your own risk, if you are not awake by the time the song
ends you will probably be very late to work as there is no auto-repeat
function.
