SAVE KEY STROKES: APPT AUTOMATICALLY ADDS AM/PM

95LX 100LX

You can save a few key strokes by letting the Appointment program automatically add "am" or "pm" to the start and end times of the appointment.

ON THE HP 95LX

When you press (F8) to insert an appointment, enter the time without an "am" or "pm" and press (<Tab>) or (F10) (Done), the program will add "am" any time from 7:00 to 11:59, and it will add "pm" from any time from 12:00 to 6:59. These time ranges are fixed and are not affected by changing the First-Hour (press (MENU) Settings). If you want to enter an evening appointment, say 10:00 pm, you only have to enter the p.

ON THE HP 100LX

When you first start an Appointment Book file in the 100LX the Timeline (press (MENU) Options Timeline...) is set to display an appointment every 60 minutes and the First Hour is set to 8:00 am. This means that the 100LX assumes that your appointments will start at 8:00 am. If you enter an appointment for "8:30" and press (ENTER), the program will automatically supply the "am". If you enter an appointment for "7:45", it will automatically add "pm". Since your day starts at 8:00 am the program assumes that 7:45 comes after 8:00 am.

If you change the First Hour to 7:00 am, the program will assume that 7:45 is "am" and that 6:55 is "pm". If you want to specify a.m. or p.m., type in the time followed by an a or p.
