Null (empty) note still shows the annuciator

When opening a note (F3) and immediately closing it (i.e. an empty note) the note annunciator will show on that item until you press SAVE (F10).
Changing the Display Level On The Fly

You can press Alt-C and provide the level of display. Level 1 shows only the main item in the map. Level 2 sows the main items and its immediate children and so on.
A somewhat related command is Alt-H. It is a toggle that will show all the items below the currently highlighted item. So if you are on the main item pressing ALT-H repeatedly will show all items or hide all items. When items are hidden the "+" annunciator will display.

You can press the first letter of the item you seek, and if there, MM/LX will jump to it.
When Pressing F3 to Edit a Note, Nothing Happens!

To edit a note, MM/LX uses the editor you specify in parameter "Editor=" in MM.CFG. If the parameter points to a program it cannot find, nothing happens. You must make sure the editor program is on your palmtop, and that MM/LX can find it (either specify the full path to it, or make sure its directory is on the path statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT.)
How to Set Up a Single Directory for All the Maps

The suggestion is to start MM/LX after navigating to the map directory. Here is a suggested batch file: @echo off a: cd \mapsdir c:\appl\mmlx\mm.exe cd\ This batch file switches to A: drive, changes directory to mapsdir (or whatever name you want to give to that maps directory), then starts MM.EXE with the full explicit path.
MM.EXE will assume the current directory (a:\mapsdir, in this case) is the place to find maps and save them in!
MM/LX on the Desktop

This mode of running MM/LX is not supported by D&A Software, so you are on your own here. I had a question in my mind, and two or three customers asked too. So I tried three Palmtop emulation programs on my desktop. PalmPC, CG.COM, and Palrun.exe.
The first two did not work. Palrun has two emulations - CGA and VGA. The CGA emulation ran fine.
Be aware, Your Results May Well Vary from this!!! This worked on my desktop, which is no guarantee at all.

CG.COM comes with the Connectivity Package. I have no idea where to find PalmPC - someone sent it to me.
Can a MM/LX Child Item Have Two Parents

Andreas suggests to flip the question: Can twp parent items point at one child item? Yes! Make the child a SEPARATE mindmap (even in the SAME file)and have two parents point to it.
