ESS AudioDrive Games
ESS AudioDrive sound cards had excellent Sound Blaster Pro compatibility, but they also had their own OPL3-variant called ESFM, which sounded a bit different - this uses an audio filter which some people prefer. Others believe it just comes across as more "muffled".
ESFM is present on all sound cards with an ES1488, ES1688, ES1788, ES1868, and ES1869.
