| CheckIt | 1.10a 2.1 3.0 Pro v1.11 | 1988 1989 1990 1993 | CheckIt, from TouchStone Software Corporation, is a diagnostic tool for generic PC/XT/AT compatible computers. It can perform tests on RAM, hard disks, video cards, floppy disks, motherboard resources, and I/O devices. It has an easy to use menu interface but can also run tests non-interactively. It was followed up by the product WINCheckit. These are DOS versions of CheckIt. Suitable for the IBM 5150 (IBM PC), IBM 5160 (IBM XT) and IBM 5170 (IBM AT). May not work properly on computers dated later than 1990. Version 1.10a requires only 256 KB RAM under DOS 2.0. For version 2.1, the READ.ME file contains a list of computers that the version has been tested on - it does not work on some Tandy models. Requires 330 KB of free RAM. v3.0 adds support for DOS 4.0, 486 CPUs, virus detection, floppy drive alignment tests, and benchmarks. Checkit "Pro" for DOS is a significant revamp that replaces CheckIt 3.0. | |
